HFSC was founded by a group of local youths in response to rising cases of gender-based violence (GBV), teenage pregnancies, female genital mutilation (FGM), climate change, and the plight of orphans and vulnerable children stigmatized due to perceived HIV infection. The organization is non-political and non-religious, focusing on reducing the effects of climate change, GBV, malnutrition, and school dropouts through capacity building, socio-economic empowerment, and psychosocial support.
